When an entity evolves in a man-made and/or natural ecosystem, it has a big task to accomplish. It has to continuously evolve to make itself relevant by establishing communication with other entities, accepting their output as the input it uses, and offering its output for other entities to use as input. The wider and deeper its relation is with other entities as per the above-mentioned parameters, the chances for the entity to grow and survive are better.
When an entity evolves, it develops/evolves interfaces to communicate and/or receive input with/from other entities. It has a set of functions to process input and produce output to be used for its own functions as input and also as input for other entities in man-made and/or natural ecosystems. In order to maintain its existence, a set of rules are defined for input, processing the input, and output. These rules are in compliance with other entities for communication, offering input, processing input and information, and offering output. While engaging with the entity, or the entity engages with any other entity for any objective or set of objectives to fulfill, observing these rules is known as respect.
